and today is...

JUNK FOOD LUNCH DAY!

Tuesday 27 March 2012

W news - W day

Well, as I told you before, I have quite unexpected news for you (for you and for me, actually). Mr. Bubbly and I were already talking about getting married for a while, since we love each other, were already living together abroad, and to make things easier if we had to move to a country outside the EU for a year or so (because career-relative reasons).

We were planning to do a civil intimate celebration with close friends and family only on April 2012 and to throw a big party, the religious wedding itself, next year 2013 during Christmas time, as it's always been my dream. It seemed like a good plan, one we could stick to. And it would be, if Mr. Bubbly weren't the most spontaneous person I know. We arrived to Portugal on a Sunday, 12th February, and went to the civil register office in our home town in the following day. We were actually going to book it for April until the lady asks:

Lady: When would you like it to be?
Mr. Bubbly: In April.
Lady: No, but is there a specific date you would like it to be?
Mr. Bubbly: Well, actually there was a date, but it's impossible. It would be tomorrow,  the 14th February, Valentine's Day and the day we'll be celebrating 1 year, 8 months together.
Lady: Well, consider it done! We can definitely book it for tomorrow at 3 p.m.!
Mr. Bubbly: Great! Done then!

And that was it. I was going to get married the following day. It looked unreal, surreal, I don't even know what went through my mind when I was trying to digest it all. I was happy and anxious. After all, I would have to call my parents and say: "Mum, Dad, I'm getting married... TOMORROW!" Indeed, that's what I did. And in the end, it all went well, better than if it had been planned with weeks in advance anyway.

Luckily, I had bought a dress in London for the ceremony, nothing exquisite, something very simple, but that felt like ME. I only packed it to Portugal because it was too big - two sizes bigger - and I needed to have it suited for me. Mr. Bubbly didn't have any of his suits, so he just wore a pair of chino pants (the pair he wore on our first dinner date some weeks after we first met), a white shirt and a grey blazer.

Here are the photos for you. Hope you enjoy! Now, you'll just have to wait for the photos of the real thing next year in December.

Sra.: Bem, considerem o vosso casamento marcado! Pode, definitivamente ser amanhã às 2 da tarde.
Mr. Bubbly: Óptimo! Está marcado então!

E foi assim. Eu ia mesmo casar no dia seguinte.Parecia irreal, surreal.

lying on the bed-side table...

[you would guess I'm not reading "The Spanish Soccer Coaching Bible" - that's, of course, Mr. Bubbly's book]

Have a nice day!

Yup, I'm still alive!

Hello, Bubbly Buddies!

How have you been? I have lots of news to tell you about and I don't actually know how to start with.

Firstly, I'm ill (again), looking like a zombie, in bed, with the most terrible flu (again)! Hate this so much! Grrrrrrh!

Secondly, I'm still in London, still loving it and still don't intend to move permanently to Portugal.

Thirdly, my course at Central Saint Martins has been great. I loved it and am now sure that's what I want to do.

Well, and that's it for my brief update. I will leave the biggest surprise for a different post. It will be a long story and I am too sleepy (this flu is killing me) to tell you all about it now.

I've missed you guys!
